Mailing Lists:
Electronic mailing lists are a terrific way of communicating with one another about a particular topic. Many are moderated, which means the mail will be filtered or approved by one or more persons acting as a moderator. This ensures that all mail is appropriate and relevant to the particular list.
You will subscribe or unsubscribe from/to a mailing list by sending mail to a list server. Here are some popular mailing lists for gay, lesbian, bisexual youth and their families:
Girl
PFLAG Announcements
PFLAG Talk
"Queer" Parents (parents who are gay, lesbian, or bisexual)
Youth List
NOTE: If you should ever receive unwanted email that you feel is harassing, threatening, or somehow very inappropriate, the best way to handle the situation is to politely ask the sender to stop sending you mail. If it persists, then ignore the email. Do not reply to the sender, but do send a copy of the mail to the sender's postmaster. This can be done every easily. For example, let's say someone named John at john@somewhere.com sends you email that you consider harassing. Send a complete copy of that mail to postmaster@somewhere.com
Of course, you will need to substitute somewhere.com for the true mailing address of that postmaster.
