Female Clinic
For over 30 years, Links - North Shore Youth Health Service has offered gynecological services to young women. Our clients range in age from 13-25, and the treatment is non-judgmental and confidential. The clinic is staffed by medical personnel — doctors and nurse-midwives - who work in private practice and at large medical centers in the area. Trained support workers accompany clients through the process and can help to answer any questions they may have.
Treatment is by appointment only, but young women are quickly seen and the cost is exceptionally low. The client is seen from a "whole person" perspective: a medical and social history is taken; routine gynecological evaluation is performed, including any needed testing for STIs and other infections; short-term counseling is offered as needed; and referrals are given when appropriate. Low cost contraception, pregnancy testing and counseling, and emergency contraception are available. Clients are always encouraged to call with any questions or problems they may be having.
